The practical answer
There is no universal percentage. The required initial payment depends on the lender, business, asset, value and structure.
Ask for the cash due at order and at completion, including VAT, fees and any costs excluded from funding. A headline deposit percentage may not describe the whole initial outlay.
Compare offers using the same assumptions and keep working capital for running the asset. A low deposit can preserve cash but may increase the amount financed and overall commitment.
Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.
What should I do next?
Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
