Deposits, VAT & purchase costs

What if the asset price increases before the finance completes?

The lender may need to reassess the amount and documents, and the company may need more cash.

The practical answer

The lender may need to reassess the amount and documents, and the company may need more cash.

Send the revised quote promptly, identifying changes in specification, VAT, delivery and any currency conversion. Ask whether the approval and terms still apply.

Do not assume the finance automatically rises with the supplier’s price. Check cancellation or variation terms in the purchase contract before accepting the increase, especially where a deposit has already been paid.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
