Refinance & releasing equity

Will refinancing to a lower payment save my company money?

A lower instalment can improve monthly cash flow without reducing total cost, especially if the repayment period is extended.

The practical answer

A lower instalment can improve monthly cash flow without reducing total cost, especially if the repayment period is extended.

Compare settlement, new fees, initial payments, all future instalments and any final amount. Include the old agreement’s remaining cost and the asset’s likely remaining working life.

Ask for both monthly relief and total payable to be shown. Refinancing may serve a cash-flow purpose, but that should not be presented as an automatic overall saving.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
