Imported machinery & supplier payments

Can I finance machinery bought from Germany?

Potentially. UK lenders may consider equipment supplied from Germany, but supplier verification, payment timing, shipping, title and acceptance requirements need to be understood early.

The practical answer

Potentially. UK lenders may consider equipment supplied from Germany, but supplier verification, payment timing, shipping, title and acceptance requirements need to be understood early.

Share the German supplier’s quote, equipment identification, condition, payment currency and proposed delivery arrangements. Used machinery may need inspection and ownership evidence.

Ask who pays freight, installation and any import charges, and when. DCF’s published German-built suction-excavator example supports its experience, but is not a current offer for every German purchase.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
