Can I finance a new industrial press with build-stage payments?

Possibly, but advance payments for an unfinished press require a funding structure that expressly supports the supplier’s milestones.

The practical answer

Possibly, but advance payments for an unfinished press require a funding structure that expressly supports the supplier’s milestones.

Provide the specification, manufacturer, build timetable, deposit, stage invoices and acceptance tests. State when ownership passes and whether money is refundable if the build fails.

Standard asset finance may pay only after delivery or acceptance. Resolve any unsupported stage payments before ordering and do not describe conditional funding as a guaranteed payment to the manufacturer.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
