CNC & manufacturing machinery

How should I budget when a financed machine takes months to start production?

Plan for the period when finance and other costs may be payable before the machine generates income.

The practical answer

Plan for the period when finance and other costs may be payable before the machine generates income.

Set out delivery, utilities work, installation, testing, training and customer sign-off, with conservative production ramp-up assumptions. Include staff, stock, rent and existing repayments throughout.

Ask exactly when instalments begin and which project costs are eligible. A repayment holiday is not automatic; the business needs funding for any gap that the equipment facility does not cover.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
