Handling, lifting & agricultural equipment

Can I finance an overhead crane installed in my factory?

Potentially, although fixed installation, premises ownership and removal rights can affect the lender’s security.

The practical answer

Potentially, although fixed installation, premises ownership and removal rights can affect the lender’s security.

Itemise the crane, rails, structural work, electrical work and installation. Tell the lender whether the premises are owned or leased and provide the expected commissioning timetable.

A landlord’s consent or other documentation may be needed depending on the transaction. Ask which parts of the project are eligible rather than assuming all building alterations can be included as machinery.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
