The practical answer
A replacement unit may be considered separately, but existing vehicle finance and how the unit is attached can complicate ownership and security.
Provide the truck’s ownership or finance details, the new unit quote and installation costs. Explain whether the old unit is being traded in and who owns it.
The current lender may need to consent to changes. Ask whether the proposed finance is over the unit alone or involves refinancing the whole vehicle; the costs and settlement implications differ.
Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.
What should I do next?
Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
