New companies & lender requirements

Can a company with three months’ trading apply for asset finance?

Some lenders may consider it, but limited trading evidence means the directors, asset and business plan need explaining clearly.

The practical answer

Some lenders may consider it, but limited trading evidence means the directors, asset and business plan need explaining clearly.

Provide the bank history available, current sales, contracts or orders, relevant experience and a realistic cash forecast. Explain how the company will meet deposits and costs before customer payments arrive.

Three months is not a universal eligibility threshold. The outcome depends on the full proposal, and a lender may request further information or a longer track record.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
