New companies & lender requirements

Can a dormant company finance equipment when it starts trading again?

It may be considered, but incorporation age alone does not demonstrate an active trading history.

The practical answer

It may be considered, but incorporation age alone does not demonstrate an active trading history.

Explain when trading stopped, why it is restarting, the current directors, available cash and proposed work. Provide recent bank information, forecasts and asset details rather than relying only on old accounts.

The lender may assess the proposal more like a new or restarted business. Be clear about historic liabilities and how repayments will be supported during the restart.

Important

Commercial finance is subject to status, lender approval and the specific asset and transaction. The right structure depends on the complete circumstances of the business.

What should I do next?

Have the asset details, supplier information and an outline of what the business needs ready. DCF can then discuss the requirement and identify which lenders may be suitable.
